ARMOR SHIELD CF33 VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) foam pads for multi-function corrosion protection in metal storage, packaging, and industrial enclosures. The 10" × 10" × ¼" foam squares serve three simultaneous roles: a physical separation layer to prevent metal-on-metal contact, a buffing barrier to protect finished and machined surfaces, and an active VCI emitter that releases corrosion-inhibiting vapor into the surrounding micro-environment to protect ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces.
Unlike VCI bags or films that require the metal to be sealed inside, VCI foam pads can be placed directly inside electrical cabinets, control panels, toolboxes, and storage drawers where flexible poly packaging isn’t practical. The ARMOR VCI formulation provides approximately 3 years of shelf life when stored below 120°F and away from direct sunlight. 250 pads per case.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How do VCI foam pads work differently from VCI bags?
- VCI bags require the metal component to be placed inside and sealed to create a protected micro-environment. VCI foam pads release corrosion-inhibiting vapor directly into the space where they are placed, making them ideal for fixed enclosures like electrical cabinets, storage racks, and equipment drawers where individual bagging is impractical. The foam substrate also provides physical cushioning that poly film alone cannot.
- What metals do ARMOR VCI foam pads protect?
- The CF33 formulation protects a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals including carbon steel, tool steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, and brass. For mixed-metal assemblies where some metals require different VCI chemistry, consult the ARMOR product compatibility guide before use.
- Can I cut these pads to a custom size?
- Yes — the foam pads can be cut with a utility knife or scissors to fit smaller trays, compartments, or parts bins. VCI activity is proportional to exposed surface area, so a smaller pad will still emit VCI vapor but at reduced volume. For heavily loaded enclosures or large spaces, multiple full pads are more effective than a single cut piece.
