18" x 24" 4 mil, ARMOR Poly VCI Zip Top Bags
Product Details
Brand: NFC Bags
Gauge: 4

ARMOR 18" × 24" VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) zip-top bags in 4 mil for protecting large metal assemblies, machined castings, pump housings, valve bodies, brake components, and industrial drivetrain parts from rust and corrosion during storage and transit. ARMOR’s proprietary VCI chemistry is embedded directly in the poly film, releasing corrosion-inhibiting vapor that forms a molecular-level protective layer on exposed ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces without requiring oils, desiccants, or contact wraps.

The reinforced side-welded zipper allows easy part insertion and secure resealing — parts can be inspected and repackaged without replacing the bag. Heat-sealable film construction provides an option for a permanent hermetic closure on export shipments or long-term inventory. Applications include in-process storage, inter-operation transport, warehouse inventory protection, and domestic and international export packaging. 250 bags per case.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size metal parts fit in the 18x24 VCI bag?

The 18×24 opening accommodates pump housing assemblies, medium valve manifolds, cylinder heads, brake calipers, gear assemblies, and similarly sized precision machined parts. For very large or irregularly shaped components, ARMOR VCI film and tubing allow custom-sized coverage beyond standard bag dimensions.

Do I need to heat seal the bag, or is the zip closure sufficient?

The zip closure is sufficient for short-term storage and in-process use where parts are accessed regularly. For long-term warehouse storage exceeding 60–90 days or for export shipments, heat sealing above the zipper creates a hermetic barrier that extends VCI protection life and prevents humidity infiltration during ocean or air freight transit.

Does ARMOR VCI leave any residue on metal parts?

No — ARMOR VCI chemistry evaporates cleanly from metal surfaces when the bag is opened and the part is exposed to ambient air. Parts typically require no degreasing or cleaning before use, unlike parts stored with rust-preventative oils or wax coatings.
