Product Details

8" black conductive poly tubing in 4 mil carbon-impregnated LDPE for ESD-safe packaging of printed circuit boards, elongated electronic assemblies, sensor arrays, and other static-sensitive components that require a custom-length sleeve rather than a fixed-size bag. The carbon-impregnated film creates a conductive barrier that dissipates electrostatic charge before it can reach sensitive components — meeting the specifications of MIL-P-82646, Rev. B.

Tubing format provides maximum flexibility: cut the roll to any length required for your specific component, then seal both ends with a heat sealer or fold and tape for temporary containment. The even 4 mil wall thickness ensures consistent conductivity and protection across the entire length of the bag. Wound on a 3" core with a 1" diameter core plug for roll dispenser mounting. 750 feet per roll.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of ESD tubing over fixed-size ESD bags?

Tubing lets you create a custom-length sleeve for each component, eliminating waste from oversize bags and preventing excess loose film from flopping over PCB leads or connector pins during handling. For production lines packaging boards of varying lengths, tubing is faster and more material-efficient than stocking multiple bag sizes.

How does carbon-impregnated LDPE protect against static?

Carbon particles dispersed throughout the LDPE film create a conductive network across the material. This dissipates electrostatic charge across the bag surface rather than allowing it to build up and discharge through the component — the same principle as a Faraday cage at the film level. This is distinct from anti-static pink poly, which only reduces triboelectric charge generation.

Can this tubing be used for chemical or moisture protection in addition to ESD shielding?

Yes — when heat sealed at both ends, the 4 mil LDPE construction provides a barrier against chemicals, abrasion, and humidity as well as static protection, per the MIL-P-82646 specification.
