8" X 4 mil Pink Antistatic Tubing Amine-free
Product Details
Brand: NFC Bags
Gauge: 4

Pink anti-static polyethylene tubing in roll form for custom-length packaging of PCB strips, long circuit board assemblies, LED strip modules, and other elongated ESD-sensitive components. At 8" wide and 4 mil gauge, this tubing provides heavy-duty static-dissipative protection for variable-length electronic assemblies. Amine-free formulation is safe for polycarbonate surfaces and optical components.

Specs: 8" Lay Flat Width | 4 mil | Pink Anti-Static Polyethylene | Surface Resistivity <1 x 10¹² Ω/sq | 3 in. Core | MIL-PRF-81705E Type II | EIA-541

Applications

Used by electronics contract manufacturers and PCB assemblers to bag long-profile board assemblies including server daughtercards, keyboard PCBs, LED driver strips, ribbon cable reels, and sensor arrays. The cut-to-length roll format accommodates variable board lengths without requiring multiple fixed-size bag SKUs. Also used for elongated precision instrument packaging and long-form medical device assemblies requiring ESD protection.

Features

  • Surface resistivity <1 x 10¹² ohms/sq — meets static dissipation requirements for Type II anti-static packaging

  • Cut-to-length roll format — custom bag length per component with no wasted material

  • Amine-free formulation — will not corrode or stress-crack polycarbonate surfaces

  • Superior low-humidity performance — maintains static dissipation below standard ambient conditions

  • 4 mil gauge — heavy-duty wall for durable handling in assembly and distribution environments

  • 3 in. core with 1 in. core plug — standard roll dispenser compatible

  • Heat-sealable — may also be tied, stapled, or taped at cut ends

  • MIL-PRF-81705E Type II and EIA-541 compliant

Material Notes

Manufactured to exact wall thickness specifications for consistent gauge throughout the roll. Pink anti-static polyethylene provides surface-dissipative ESD protection at the bag exterior. This tubing is not a shielding bag — it dissipates surface static charge but does not provide Faraday cage protection from external ESD sources. For field-level or high-ESD exposure, static shielding bags with a buried metallic layer are required.

Use Case Notes

The 8" lay flat width creates a 16" circumference opening, accommodating PCBs and boards up to approximately 7.5" wide with a snug fit. Variable board lengths from 4" to several feet can be packaged from the same roll by cutting to the appropriate length and sealing both ends. The 4 mil gauge provides the structural rigidity and puncture resistance needed for heavy assemblies with populated component leads.

Common Questions

Q: How does this tubing differ from anti-static bags?
A: Tubing on a roll is cut to a custom length at the point of use, which eliminates the need to stock multiple bag lengths for variable-size boards. Fixed-size anti-static bags are better suited for components with consistent dimensions; tubing is preferred for variable-length assemblies.

Q: What standards does this tubing meet?
A: MIL-PRF-81705E Type II (military anti-static packaging specification) and EIA-541 (Electronics Industry Association ESD protective packaging standard).

Q: Why does amine-free matter?
A: Amine-based anti-static agents can cause stress cracking in polycarbonate materials. Amine-free tubing is required for assemblies containing polycarbonate lenses, enclosures, or optical components.

Why Source This Tubing

Roll format eliminates the fixed-size bag inventory problem for variable-length PCB packaging operations. Dual MIL-PRF-81705E and EIA-541 compliance covers both defense and commercial electronics supply chains. Amine-free chemistry reduces material qualification risk for mixed-material PCB assemblies containing polycarbonate housings or optical elements.
