55-Gallon Drum & Industrial Waste Bin LLDPE Liners 23" x 20" x 47"

These LLDPE drum liners are manufactured from 100% prime Octene resin — the highest grade of LLDPE available — delivering superior tensile strength, puncture resistance, and elongation compared to standard Hexene or commodity LLDPE liners at the same gauge. The tubular construction eliminates side seal failure points, and all bags over 31" long are star sealed at the base for maximum bottom-load strength.

Specs: 23" x 20" x 47" | 0.98 mil | Octene LLDPE | Tubular/Star Seal | Dispenser Box

Applications

Designed for lining 55-gallon drums, large wheeled waste containers, industrial recycling bins, and tall compactor-feed receptacles. Commonly used in manufacturing plants, distribution centers, food processing facilities, and janitorial supply operations that require consistent, high-performance liners for heavy or wet waste streams. Also suitable as industrial parts bin liners and bulk ingredient container liners.

Features

Tubular construction eliminates side-seal split risk under side-load stress — a failure mode common in gusseted bags with heat-sealed sides. Star seal base design distributes bottom-load weight across multiple seal points rather than a single linear seal. Octene LLDPE formulation provides greater stretch and film recovery under puncture stress versus Hexene or standard LLDPE alternatives. Packed in a heavy-duty dispenser box for controlled dispensing at the waste station.

Material Notes

Manufactured from 100% prime Octene LLDPE resin. Octene is the premium comonomer in the LLDPE family, producing longer polymer side chains that dramatically improve toughness, tear resistance, and puncture resistance at lower gauge compared to Hexene or Butene LLDPE. At 0.98 mil nominal, this liner performs comparably to many 1.2–1.5 mil standard LLDPE products. All gauge ratings are nominal.

Use Case Notes

The 23" x 20" x 47" gusseted format fits 55-gallon drums (approximately 22–24" diameter, 34–36" height) with appropriate overhang for secure top cuffing over the drum rim. The 47" length provides approximately 10–12" of cuff material on a standard 35" tall drum. For 44-gallon containers or shorter drums, the excess length allows for a deeper cuff for additional retention security.

Common Questions

Q: How does Octene LLDPE compare to standard LLDPE liners?

A: Octene LLDPE uses a longer-chain comonomer than Hexene or Butene LLDPE, resulting in superior elongation at break, puncture resistance, and dart impact strength. For the same nominal gauge, Octene outperforms standard LLDPE — allowing operations to downgage without sacrificing performance.

Q: What is a star seal and why does it matter?

A: A star seal folds the bottom of the bag into multiple triangular panels before sealing, distributing the bottom load across a wider area compared to a single straight bottom seal. This is the preferred construction for heavy-load or wet-waste applications where bottom seal failure is a concern.

Q: What does tubular construction mean?

A: Tubular construction means the bag is extruded as a continuous tube, with no side seams. Side seams are potential weak points — eliminating them reduces split risk under heavy or abrasive loads.

Why Buy

Prime Octene LLDPE delivers a meaningful performance advantage over commodity can liners at a competitive price point for bulk industrial buyers. The combination of tubular construction, star seal base, and Octene resin produces a liner that handles heavy, sharp, and wet waste without the side-seal and bottom-seal failures common in lower-grade alternatives. The dispenser box format maintains liner integrity and supports clean, organized dispensing at waste stations.
