Black Carbon-Impregnated Conductive Tubing for IC Rail and ESD-Sensitive Component Packaging

This 4-in. flat-lay black conductive tubing provides a strong electrostatic barrier for IC component rail packaging, circuit board tube storage, and other ESD-sensitive parts handling. Carbon-impregnated LDPE film creates a fully conductive sheath that neutralizes and dissipates static charge across the film surface.

Specs: 4 in. Flat-Lay (~2.55 in. Diameter) | 4 mil | Black Carbon-Impregnated LDPE | MIL-P-82646 Rev. B | 750 FT/Roll | 3-in. Core

Applications

DIP and SIP IC rail tube packaging; PCB component rail staging; ESD-sensitive part storage and transit; military and defense electronic component packaging; conductive moisture-barrier sleeving for assembled subassemblies.

Features

Carbon-impregnated construction provides consistent conductive performance across the full film surface — not surface-applied coating that can wear off. Meets MIL-P-82646 Rev. B specifications for electrostatic shielding. When heat-sealed, the tube also protects against chemicals, abrasion, and humidity ingress. Manufactured to exact specification for uniform wall thickness. Can be sealed by heat sealer, tied, stapled, or taped. Wound on a 3-in. core with 1-in. plug for standard roll dispensers.

Material Notes

Black low-density polyethylene (LDPE) with carbon black impregnated throughout the film matrix. Conductive grade (surface resistivity <10⁴ Ω/sq) — not static dissipative. Carbon impregnation is uniform through the film cross-section, not surface-coated.

Use Case Notes

At 4 in. flat-lay, this tubing opens to approximately 2.55 in. diameter — suitable for standard 40-pin DIP IC rails and similar component tube formats. Cut to length and heat-seal both ends for fully enclosed conductive packaging. The black coloring prevents light exposure on photo-sensitive devices.

Common Questions

Q: What is the difference between conductive and anti-static (dissipative) tubing?
A: Conductive tubing (black carbon-impregnated) has very low surface resistivity (<10⁴ Ω/sq) and actively conducts charge away from components. Anti-static/dissipative tubing (pink or clear) has higher resistivity (10⁹–10¹² Ω/sq) and slows charge buildup. Conductive is the more aggressive ESD protection.

Q: Does this tubing provide moisture barrier protection?
A: Yes, when heat-sealed on both ends, the carbon-impregnated LDPE provides a humidity and chemical barrier in addition to ESD protection.

Why Buy

Carbon-impregnated construction provides permanent, non-migratory conductivity — no surface coating to wear off or contaminate components. MIL-P-82646 Rev. B compliance satisfies military and aerospace ESD packaging requirements. 750 ft/roll minimizes changeovers in high-volume component packaging operations.
