Flat Poly Bags 8" x 20" 6 mil 500/Box
Product Details
Brand: NFC Bags
Gauge: 6
Film Type: Recyclable LDPE

8" × 20" flat poly bags in 6 mil LDPE for individual packaging of combination wrenches, long-handle hand tools, extension bars, socket drives, pipe wrenches, and other heavy tool and hardware components. At 6 mil, these are among the thickest flat poly bags available — built to withstand sharp edges, threaded surfaces, and the abrasion of dense metal parts without tearing or puncturing during transit or long-term storage.

The 20" length accommodates most full-size combination wrenches and long-handle tools without forcing them into a shorter bag, while the 8" width provides room for bulkier tool profiles. Made from 100% virgin LDPE resin, FDA/USDA compliant. Seal with a heat sealer, tape, or tie. 500 bags per box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why use 6 mil for tool packaging?

Tools and hardware often have sharp edges, machined threads, and protrusions that easily puncture lighter film. The 6 mil gauge handles these rough surfaces without tearing, keeping tools clean and greased surfaces contained. Thinner bags frequently fail on the first use when packaging wrenches or metal parts individually.

What tools fit best in an 8x20 bag?

The 8×20 format accommodates combination wrenches up to 18 inches, long-handle socket extensions, pipe wrenches, adjustable wrenches, and similar tools up to about 17 inches in usable length. It’s also well-suited for long-threaded rod assemblies, tube fittings, and heavy chain sections.

Can these bags be vacuum sealed?

While not specifically vacuum-rated, the 6 mil LDPE construction is heavy enough to hold a light vacuum when sealed with a standard heat sealer, making them suitable for corrosion-sensitive tools that benefit from low-oxygen packaging during long-term storage or overseas shipment.
